Get ready to explore the Cape in a whole new way. From conserving the lighthouse’s surrounding landscape for other explorers to enjoy, to promoting its rich history, 404 Scouts are lighting the way to a future shining with promise and possibility.
Seashore service projects that protect
404 Scouts are adopting the beaches of Cape Lookout on a mission to help preserve it for the next generation. Here’s how 404 aims to help:
- Remove harmful, unsightly trash and litter from our beautiful beaches.
- Contribute to the overall success of our wildlife populations, including sea turtles, shore birds, and aquatic life, by removing harmful litter.
- Keep the NPS informed of changing beach conditions to help in addressing issues and concerns.
Everlasting ethics for the outdoors
Our Scouts are actively developing a culture that effectively demonstrates responsible outdoor choices. The Outdoor Code reinforces our culture:
